The players in the Challenger Middle School League should expect attention that matches their commitment and ambitions. This means that we expect to create an environment that is inclusive and developmental so every player has the pathway to “Rise to Royalty.” Players in this league should be there because they want to continue to have fun and learn. The CMSL should be viewed as a platform to earn a spot on a state team. This is largely up to the player to strive for promotion, as the coaching staff celebrates player development by rewarding players who are ready for the next level of playing and training.

All players who do not make one of the state teams will be invited to sign up for the Challenger Middle School League where we will combine players from U12, U13, & U14. after having trained, observed and assessed the players during the weekly training over the summer (August),  balanced teams will be created. We will be asking for parents to coach teams while NUU Directors provide training, mentoring, and game scheduling.

The entire group will be viewed as a "MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS POOL” or “MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS POOL.” We intend to have training sessions with players from the same geographical area as much as possible. But will likely train in one or two areas in the valley, the Hansen Indoor Sports Complex being one of them.

The game format will be 7v7 to provide more interactions with the ball and to create a better development environment.

Coaches: The Middle School League will be heavily dependent on parent coaches. Without parent coaches to step up these players will not have a place to play year-round soccer. The club Directors will provide mentoring as well as run training sessions for the pools throughout the Summer, Fall & Spring. Volunteer parent coaches will be responsible for managing games and additional training sessions.

2 Competition Seasons: Fall (August-October) and Spring (April-May).

Summer Training: During the Summer there will be training, but will be flexible as far as attendance goes to make room for family vacations, and other commitments. NUU Directors will provide training for the players and mentoring for the volunteer coaches.

Optional Winter Training: There will be optional "Club training" indoors for $150 per player. Coaches will be expected to run some of the winter "Club training" but will not be expected to do any of the scheduling. Training sessions/activities will be provided and mentoring will continue.

Cost per player $200: Covers training, leagues, referees, and club dues. This covers everything but the optional winter training, winter leagues, and tournaments. Players will be expected to train in a yellow training jersey that is included in the price.

Uniform: Players must purchase a home and away kit for $75. Those with current NUU Uniforms can wear them as long as they want before they have to purchase new uniforms.
