Parent Preparation
-
Parents are the difference makers!
NUU has seen the benefits of parents implementing the ideas in this book and strongly encourages every parent to use this book to help navigate the early years of their child’s soccer experience. -
It's not a secret anymore...
Soccer Starts at Home® uses a unique methodology for parents to instill confidence and focus in their children all while developing critical soccer skills and fostering a bond over the love of the sport.
Children as young as two years old benefit greatly from the stimulation of brain functions, and the mastery of basic technical skills will give them a significant advantage once they’re old enough to join a team.

ROYALTY PREP-TRAINING
Skills Training
-
Destination Soccer Graduates (6/7 year olds with yellow armbands) and current NUU players ages 7-12.
-
Royalty Prep-TRAINING is supplemental skill training offered year round for players that want more touches on the ball outside of their team and at home training.
Royalty Prep-TRAINING provides training in a small group (10-20 players). The six week program will provide a balance of fitness, ball mastery, soccer intelligence, and 5v5 games.
We recommend that players also participate in the Royalty Prep-LEAGUE that helps them transition from Destination and Rec Soccer to an NUU Team. -

ROYALTY PREP-LEAGUE (5v5)
Learn to play the game
-
Destination Soccer Graduates (6/7 year olds with yellow armbands) and current NUU players ages 7-8.
-
Royalty Prep-LEAGUE is a league where individuals sign up to play on teams where the players play every position each week and the roster (teammates) change each week. They play three 14 minute games each week ensuring that every player plays every position, has chances to score, get scored on, win and lose each night.
We liken these games to “pick-up soccer” where kids are free to play and express themselves while getting some basic instruction that introduces them to the four phase of the game; attacking, transitioning from defending to attacking, defending, and transitioning from defending to attacking.
We recommend that players also participate in the Royalty Prep-TRAINING where they can increase their confidence to control the ball during games -

Goalkeeper Union (Training)
Learn to play as a Goalkeeper
-
Every player should be familiar with the demands of a goalkeeper. Every player should learn the basics of goalkeeping, especially at the younger ages where everyone plays GK at some point during each season.
-
It is no coincidence that the best teams in the world have competent goalkeepers. They are not longer just shot blockers, but field players that can use their hands. Our goalkeeper training creates a welcoming yet challenging environment for every player from the introduction level to the experienced GK.
Traditionally our GK Union trains mostly during the Summer, but we anticipate expanding the GK training services in the near future. -

Royalty Select Teams
Individuals “selected” to compete
-
NUU players on an 9U, 10U, 11U or 12U team are eligible to participate on a Royalty Select team with their age group or an older age group depending on the needs of the players.
The focus is on the individual development at this age. This is an experience that should put like minded (ambitious) players in a more advanced environment that will challenge each player individually, collectively all while developing coaches to be better prepared for the demands of coaching at the 13U-19U ages. -
NUU Players are invited to represent NUU and the Cache Valley Soccer community after they have expressed interest in being considered to be “selected” to attend an event/tournament.
The Royalty “Select” program was created to provide opportunities for players that want to attend more competitions than their team offers as well as prepare players, coaches and parents to play on an NUU ROYALTY team when they begin playing 11v11 at 13U. -

Parents are the difference makers!
NUU has seen the benefits of parents implementing the ideas in this book and strongly encourages every parent to use this book to help navigate the early years of their child’s soccer experience. -
Under the direction of Northern Utah United’s Director of Coaching, Jeff Ginn, participating teams in the Sterling Program will have an opportunity to train at a level that reflects the demands and desires of the team as dictated by the teams coaching staff and through assessment from coach Ginn and the Sterling coaching staff. In addition to training teams in a modern approach that improves technical, tactical, and physical abilities there is a side to the program that focuses on leadership and training session creation for the coaching staff of each Sterling team.
